Accomplishing our mission makes college
preparation Priority One. Our goal, first and foremost, is preparing our
students for the rigors of applying for, being accepted to and then
succeeding at the university level. This goal is true of both the
secondary and junior college programs.
The presence of the Junior College enables Wentworth to offer several
unique programs that help to strengthen our students’ preparation for
college and beyond. Wentworth offers a dual-enrollment program that
allows qualified high school juniors and seniors to achieve simultaneous
high school and college credit.
It is one of five colleges in the
nation to offer the Early Commissioning Program (ECP), which allows
eligible students to receive their commission as an Army second
lieutenant in just two years, while preparing them to complete their
bachelor’s degree at the college or university of their choice.
Wentworth is the only college in the nation to offer the 2+2
Commissioning Program that enables eligible students to commence their
college career at Wentworth and complete it at a select 4-year
institution while simultaneously earning their commission as an Army
second lieutenant, expenses paid through a 4-year ROTC scholarship for
those that qualify.
What makes Wentworth’s college preparatory program unique is its
emphasis on developing strong academic habits and self-discipline – in
teaching students HOW to study as much as what to study, HOW to organize
and manage their time, HOW to prepare for and take tests and HOW to stay
focused on what’s important.
